China’s National Immigration Administration states that eligible travelers may use the 240-hour visa-free transit policy through designated ports and remain within permitted areas for up to 10 days.

This is a transit policy, not a general visa waiver. Eligibility depends on nationality, the arrival port, the permitted stay area and confirmed onward travel to a third country or region. Check the official list before booking and carry the confirmed onward ticket.

Policies can change. Verify the official NIA page again before departure or ask a qualified visa service for advice specific to your passport and route.
